The Sloth Plant Hanger is a playful design object and functional plant holder in one. This handmade ceramic ornament is shaped like a sloth clinging to your favorite hanging plant. Thanks to its subtle gray and white color scheme, it complements any interior style, from Scandinavian minimalism to a warm urban jungle. Pair it with a lovely pot from our collection of houseplant pots for a truly eye-catching addition to your living room or balcony.
The Sloth Plant Hanger easily adds height and dynamism to your green space. It's lightweight yet strong enough to support most hanging plants. Looking for even more variety in hanging plants? Then check out our Dischidia Pectenoides, Pancake Plant, or Scindapsus Pictus for a playful effect. Plant it in a fresh potting soil mix from our potting soil and accessories collection for a healthy start.
This hanger can easily be hung from a sturdy ceiling hook or a rabbit eye on the wall. Use a decorative hook, like one from our plant accessories collection, to stylishly display your Sloth Plant Hanger. This way, you can create a vibrant botanical ambiance in any room.
Looking for other lovely hanging plants? Discover our Epipremnum Pinnatum Aureum, Tradescantia Nanouk, or the elegant Asplenium Parvati for added variety to your hanging plant collection.
How to Care for a Sloth Hanging Plant
Watering
The Sloth Planter prefers even moisture but dislikes puddles in the pot. Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings. Water about once a week, depending on the room temperature and humidity. Test the soil with your finger to see if it feels dry before watering again. Overwatering can cause root rot; make sure you have a well-draining pot and, if necessary, use hydroponic clays from our webshop.
Light requirements
The Sloth Hanging Plant prefers a bright spot, but not in direct sunlight. A spot next to an east- or west-facing window is ideal. Too little light will result in long or pale leaves, while bright midday sun can heat up the ceramic hanger and cause the soil to dry out too quickly. Rotate the plant's position and rotate it occasionally to ensure even growth.
Is the Sloth Hanging Plant Poisonous?
The Sloth Hanging Plant itself is made of harmless material and is non-toxic. Be careful which plant you put inside: some hanging plants, such as Caladium, are mildly toxic if ingested by pets. Want 100% safe greenery? Then choose a non-toxic plant from our pet-safe collection.

Common problems
Yellow leaves
Yellow leaves usually indicate either too much or too little water. Always check the moisture level of the potting soil before watering. Remove any dead leaves to prevent mold and adjust your watering routine accordingly.
Plant hanger is wet/dripping
If water drips from the bottom, the pot may have holes that are too large, or the hanger has been sitting in the saucer for too long. Place a saucer or drip tray under the pot and water gradually. Ensure the potting mix is airy and contains hydroponic clays to absorb excess moisture.
Plagues
Whiteflies, spider mites, or aphids can sometimes infest your hanging plant. Inspect the undersides of the leaves weekly. At the first sign of symptoms, treat with a mild plant mist or sticky traps to repel fungus gnats. Also check out our blog about pests for more tips.
Carrots emerge from the bottom of the pot
When roots appear at the bottom, the plant is ready for a larger pot. Replace the Sloth Hanging Pot once a year with a slightly larger one. Use suitable potting soil for hanging plants or an aroid mix from our potting soil and accessories collection.
Brown edges on the leaves
Brown leaf edges are caused by air that is too dry or excessive feeding. Increase humidity by grouping plants together or using a humidifier. Flush the potting soil once with rainwater to wash away excess fertilizer.
With the Sloth Plant Hanger, you'll bring a unique design object into your home that easily combines with our favorite hanging plants and accessories. Order today and give your interior a playful, botanical touch.
