How to care for a Wall Cutting
Watering for Wall Cuttings
A wall cutting needs moderate watering. Let the top inch of potting soil dry slightly between waterings so the roots don't have wet feet. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it's better to underwater than overwater. For more helpful tips, check out our collection of easy houseplants for beginners .
Light requirements of wall cuttings
Place your Wall Cuttings in a spot with bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can burn the delicate leaves, while too little light stunts growth. A spot near an east- or west-facing window is ideal for a healthy, green look. Combine it with an air-purifying Monstera Minima for a stylish plant nook.
Common problems
Yellow leaves
Yellow leaves often indicate too much water or too little light. Check the moisture in the potting soil and adjust your watering schedule. Move the plant to a brighter spot if the room is too dark.
Plant dripping
Dripping water is usually excess moisture leaking from the pot. Place the pot in a saucer to catch any splashes. Ensure you use well-draining potting soil and consider adding hydroponic clays to the bottom of the pot.
Plagues
Spider mites, mealybugs, and thrips can settle on your wall cuttings. Regularly inspect under the leaves and treat at the first sign with a gentle plant spray or organic pesticide. You'll find effective solutions in our webshop, such as sticky traps for fungus gnats .
Carrots come out of the pot
Roots protruding from the pot are too small. Repot the plant in a slightly larger pot with fresh potting soil for aroids. See our selection of potting soil and accessories for the right mix.
Brown edges on the leaves
Brown edges are caused by excessively dry air or irregular watering. Increase the humidity with a plant sprayer or a homemade humidity chart. Regular dusting with a microfiber dusting mitt keeps the pores of the leaves clear.
