How to Care for an Aromatic Coffee Grow Kit
Irrigation
The Aromatic Coffee Grow Kit prefers even moisture. Water the plant about once a week, keeping the potting soil slightly moist, but never soaking wet. Preferably use low-lime water or rainwater, and always allow excess water to drain through the drainage holes. For optimal potting soil, consider the potting soil for aroids, which you can find under Potting soil for aroids 5L .
Light
Place the Aromatic Coffee Grow Kit in a location with bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can burn the leaves, but too little light slows growth and diminishes the aroma. A bright east- or west-facing windowsill is ideal. Combine your coffee plant in a green corner with plants like Monstera Minima or Dracaena Marginata for a lush look.
Common problems
Yellow leaves
Yellow leaves on the Aromatic Coffee Grow Set often indicate a lack of moisture or a cold draft. First, check the moisture in the potting mix and increase watering if necessary. Avoid cold drafts and maintain a constant temperature between 18 and 24°C.
Plant is wet or dripping
If your coffee plant is dripping, it's probably overwatered or the humidity is very high. Let the top layer of soil dry out slightly before watering again. Move the plant a little further away from a humidifier or ventilate the room regularly. Tips for balancing humidity can be found in our blog post , "5 Tips to Increase Humidity in Your Home ."
Plagues
Powdery mildew, spider mites, and thrips can infest your coffee machine if there's no air circulation. Inspect the leaves weekly and clean them with a damp cloth. If you have an infestation, use the Sticky Traps against fungus gnats or a mild insect spray from our shop. For useful products, you can also check out the Jungle Mist Spray .
Roots growing out of the bottom of the pot
Roots growing from the bottom of the pot indicate your coffee plant is outgrowing its container. Repot the Aromatic Coffee Grow Set annually in a pot one size larger. Choose a durable pot from our collection of pots for houseplants and use a repotting mat for ease of use.
Brown edges on the leaves
Brown edges are often the result of low humidity or too much direct sunlight. Spray the leaves lightly with lukewarm water or place the plant on a moss pole for a more stable microclimate. Avoid cold drafts and give small sips of water regularly.
