The Kalanchoë Magic Bell is one of the most special and exclusive houseplants that fits in almost any interior. This special eye-catcher originally comes from Madagascar. It belongs to the crassulaceae, better known as succulents. It is a very nice plant that is easy to maintain, a real added value for any space.
What makes it so special are undoubtedly its light green lanterns at the end of the flower stem, which after a while get a beautiful orange-red flowers . The flowers disappear again by themselves but the green 'Bells' remain. A real eye-catcher!
to water
Because the kalanchoe is a succulent, it does not need much water. Watering it once every 14 days is certainly enough to keep the plant beautiful. Never let the soil dry out completely, but make sure it is not too wet. Avoid at all times that it remains with its feet in the water, because it is then sensitive to root rot.
Light
The Kalanchoe loves light. It can stand in direct sunlight all day long, but it is already satisfied in a spot with a lot of indirect sunlight. If it gets a lot of sunlight, the leaves will get a slightly redder glow.
Temperature
He doesn't like the cold. Make sure the temperature doesn't drop below 15°C.
Repotting
The Kalanchoe can be repotted immediately after purchase, but this is not necessary. The best time to repot it is in the spring. Then use universal potting soil, special cactus potting soil or vulcastrat. It is best to go for a pot that is 10-20% larger than its current one.
