How much light does an Alcoasia Frydek need?

The Alocasia Frydek is a plant that likes a lot of light. It is just not a fan of direct sunlight. So it is best to put it in a light place without too much direct sunlight. So it is best not to place it directly at a southern window. Looking for plants that like more direct sun? You can find them here .

Like most Alocasias it grows towards the light. It is therefore advisable to turn it a quarter turn every week so that it continues to grow upright.

How much water do you give the Frydek?

Never let the soil dry out completely, but make sure it never stands in water for too long. The Alocasia Frydek will show you when it needs water. Are its leaves starting to droop? Then it needs some water.

You can test it by sticking your finger in the soil. If the soil is dry, you can water it. If the soil still feels wet, it is best to wait a few more days.

    The ideal temperature for Alocasias

Although the Alocasia Frydek is a sturdy plant, it does not like large temperature fluctuations. So be careful with the heater/heater in the winter and with the use of the air conditioning in the summer!

The ideal temperature for the Alocasia Frydek is between 15°C and 35°C

Do you need to feed the Alocasia Frydek?

You can stimulate growth by giving the Alocasia Frydek a little extra nutrition specifically for jungle plants every month in the spring (from March-April). Be careful not to do this too often as the soil can then become acidic and this certainly does not benefit growth.

    Repotting an Alocasia Frydek

On average, you can best repot the Alocasia Frydek every other year. You do this best in spring or summer. In winter, the plant produces less energy and will therefore suffer more from repotting. In general, an Alocasia likes to be cramped in its pot. So make sure you don't repot too often! A pot that is too big also often leads to root rot !
The most important thing is that you use the right potting soil for Alocasias !
